The Daytona State Falcons made a game of it. After falling behind by as many as 24 points during the first half to Eastern Florida State College, they climbed back and cut their deficit all the way to four during the final minute of the NJCAA Division I Region VIII Tournament quarterfinals Thursday. But with four free throws in the last 40 seconds, the seventh-seeded Titans sealed the 89-81 victory in Niceville. It was second-seeded Daytona State's first loss since Jan. 14. Now, the Falcons (27-4) will have to hope for an at-large bid into the NJCAA Tournament.
